Marketing Lead

Growth & Marketing

Full time

Amsterdam

Looking for a new adventure? You’ve come to the right place.

We're an Amsterdam-based team of 75+ (and counting) with 25+ nationalities amongst us! A varied bunch of Citizens of The World with a wide range of skills and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our travel belts. And we have something important in common (other than our very well-worn passports): We want to change the way people travel.

And that's exactly what we're doing, with the travel app to plan, track, and relive trips in a smart and beautiful way.

Polarsteps has over 14 million users already, but, for us, this is just the beginning. We have big plans for the future, and so we need even more talented and enthusiastic people to help us on our journey.

Want to know more about us? Here you go.

Your expedition: Growth & Marketing at Polarsteps

Over the past 10 years, Polarsteps has grown massively through word-of-mouth, thanks to our product and tech department building a top-quality user experience for all our travelers world-wide.

The Growth & Marketing department is still a small team, but we’re doing big things. As the Marketing Lead , you'll be at the forefront of accelerating our key markets (FR,DE, US, UK, and others), focusing on non-scalable and scalable marketing tactics that accelerate the organic growth flywheel. You'll be both a strategic thinker and hands-on executor, capable of leading market expansion, while driving marketing experiments that identify new opportunities.

We’re looking for someone seriously talented, highly ambitious and probably pretty unusual. You’ll have an instinct for creative campaigns and marketing ideas that do a lot with a little - this role isn’t about managing ad agencies but using creativity and originality to get Polarsteps out in the world. And it’s a hands-on role; we’re keeping the team at Polarsteps lean and nimble in the longer term, so if leading big teams and managing people is important to you, this isn’t the role for you. It is the role for someone who is determined to make an impact as an individual contributor - and excited to be at the core of getting Polarsteps to 100m users and beyond.

This is for someone who thrives building from the ground up, loves the challenge of early-stage market dynamics, and brings a growth mindset with international focus.

Your itinerary

What your journey at Polarsteps will look like day-to-day.

You will:

  • Co-create and execute marketing strategies with our Head of Growth, tailored to key markets, focusing on driving awareness and acceleration of our organic flywheel.

  • Be willing to own parts of the acquisition channels yourself: identify and prioritize new opportunities and scale our creative marketing efforts globally.

  • Developing and owning the tone of voice and style guides for our international markets, and adapting global campaigns to local nuances, working with our head of localization and editorial teams.

  • Lead the creation of marketing materials and content, oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of marketing projects to ensure timely and successful delivery.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with overall business objectives.

At Polarsteps, we believe the best products are built by people as diverse as the travelers using our apps! Because we believe that diversity — be it age, race, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnicity, or gender identity — makes both the world and the workplace better.
